WWF-Greater Mekong – on the ground in Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Thailand and Vietnam–is working to conserve the region’s biodiversity and build a secure and sustainable future for people and wildlife. WWF has a long history of engagement in the Greater Mekong.
 
WWF’s mission in Cambodia is to ensure that there will be strong participation and support from all people to conserve the country’s rich biological diversity. The WWF-Cambodia Conservation Programme that started more than 10 years ago is implemented in 2 landscapes – Eastern Plains Landscape (EPL) and Mekong Flooded Forest (MFF) Landscape and built over the following 4 pillars of interventions: (1) Securing Landscape Integrity sustaining conservation and livelihood development, (2) Freshwater and Sustainable Hydropower, (3) Protected Area Management and Conservation Research ,and (4) Sustainable Financing – Green Economy.
 
 

With funding support from Asia Development Bank (ADB), WWF- Cambodia is looking for 2 qualified candidates for the following positions:

I. Small and Medium Enterprise (SME) Development SpecialistInternational consultant to be based Phnom Penh with frequent travelling to target areas.

  • Duration of the contract4-5 months
  • Start Date: As soon as possible

1. Major Responsibilities:

 
The scope of work for the position is to follow-up the organizational structures and governance options that supports the potential market linkage and value chain developments. The SME Specialist also reviews enterprise models that are integrated with community management of forest resources in both Community Forests (CFs) and Community Protected Areas (CPAs). The SME Specialist shall develop guidelines for the range of demonstration sites and options including strengths and weaknesses of each and how models can be (i) selected, and (ii) established and monitored. The scope of work supports conservation-based sustainable livelihoods strategies for the Project.
 

2. Requirement & Specification:   

  • At least an undergraduate degree. A post graduate degree in business administration or organizational management preferred. 
  • Minimum of 8 years work experience directly in the type of outputs specified below
  • Must have direct experience of working in enterprise and organization development within the context of livelihood improvement strategies and planning, including both structural and organizational systems and options, their formation and operation.
  • Experience must include capacity building for new enterprises.
  • Possess past experience in Cambodia or neighbouring GMS countries is an advantage however emphasis will be placed on a demonstrable track record in the development of successful enterprises for rural livelihood improvement programs.
 

II. Livelihoods Specialist-National Consultant to be based in Phnom Penh with frequent travel to target areas.

 
  • Duration of the Contract: 10 months
  • Start Date:  As soon as Possible
 

1. Major responsibilities:
 

The Livelihoods Specialist will (i) support the International Livelihoods Program Leader and Project Implementation Units (PIUs) to design a program of new livelihoods in project communities; (ii) establish demonstration sites of new livelihoods activities; (iii) work with the international SME Specialist and the national market linkages specialist to ensure that demonstration farms have effective value chains, particularly for marketing; (iv) develop plans for each demonstration center to transfer technology and train farmers from local communities in adopting new livelihoods; and (v) implement the livelihood strategy in their respective CFs/CPAs or province.
 

2. Requirement and Specification:

  • A post-graduate degree in sociology, business, development, or other relevant discipline to livelihoods.

  • A bachelor degree with a combination of relevant experience can be accepted in lieu of an advanced university degree.

  • The candidate will have at least 3 to 5 years of experience with livelihoods in development projects in a rural environment.

  • Experience with livelihoods on multilateral or bilateral donors funded projects is an advantage.

  • Experience in community development is an asset.
